Hi:

Crucial agrees with me...they say that the 250 G3 models with the i3 or i5 processors can take 16 GB of memory.

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-250-g3-%28core-i5-i3%29

Yes, you can replace the mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD that works with your storage needs and budget.

The manual covers the entire 250 G3 model series of all configurations.

There is no specific manual for specific product numbers.

You can see the manual is good for your model as it lists 5th generation core processors first under the product information section.

Hi:

Here is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04655216

I don't think the memory upgrade info is correct.

For the 4th and 5th gen core processors, the max should be 2 x 8 GB for a total of 16 GB.

I would run the free Crucial memory scan tool and see what it reports...

thank you for your reply.

the crucial scan doesnt seem to identify my device.

i ran through the maintainence manual but it doesnt specify my device.

I have put a link below which has all the specification of my notebook.

http://www.safaltech.com/products/hp-250-g3-laptop-l9s61pa/

can i change HDD to SSD?

And can you specify maximum amount of RAM that can be added to this device?
