HP 250 G6 - 2sy46es#abu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

On the maintenance guide, I can read that 2 types of battery exists for a HP 250 G6 :

Description Spare part number
4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 919701-850
3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 919700-850

I have a few questions :

1. I know it is depending of the usage, but in theory, what is the battery life of the 3 cell vs the 4 cells ?

2. Why is it the same part number ?  (919701-850)

3. When i checked online, i found that tje 3 cells is  not compatible with the battery voltage 14.6V and 14.8V.

meanwhile, the 4 cells battery 4 cells is not compatible with the battery voltage 14.6V and 14.8V.

Does that means that depending of what I have, I have to stick with it ?

you see, I was under the impression that the more cells you have, the bigger battery life you have.

4. How can I check the Voltage and battery type I have for the 2sy46es#abu ?

4. IF there are compatible battery out there ( I saw 6 / 9 cells on Amazon),  with more cells, would that be considered as an upgrade ?

kind regards

Dom

@Dom1965

1. As you can see, the 4 cell has 41WHr and the 3 cell only has 31WHr therefore the 4 cell will last longer given SAME usage.

2. What do you mean SAME part number, they are not the same  919701-850  and 919700-850

3.  >>> 3 cells is  not compatible with the battery voltage 14.6V and 14.8V.

meanwhile, the 4 cells battery 4 cells is not compatible with the battery voltage 14.6V and 14.8V.

Please explain, what is your pint ?

Yes, same technology, more cells get more power, not bigger, bigger won't fit.

4. You can pull battery out and check its label.

5. The manual tels you all, only 2 options: 3 cells or 4 cells.

Regards.

--> yes but would you have a estimate in battery life in hours ?

2. What do you mean SAME part number, they are not the same  919701-850  and 919700-850

--> my apologies, i need to go to specsavers

3.  >>> 3 cells is  not compatible with the battery voltage 14.6V and 14.8V.

http://hplaptopbattery.co.uk/hp-919701-850-battery-126061.htm

My question is: that if for that model there is 2 batteries with different voltage, are not with stuck with one model of batterie (3 or 4 cells) ?

It seems that : High quality battery for HP 919701-850 - 31Wh,3 cells is having a voltage of 10.95V and 11.1V.

and High quality battery for HP 919701-850 - 41Wh,4 cells  is having a voltage of 14.6V and 14.8V

I know it's confusing.... Am i being clear ?

4. ok, mine is JC03 - 10.95VOLT/31.2WH NOM:2850mAH, so according to point 3, am i stuck with 3 cells only, or JC03 have a 4 cells battery with same voltage ?

5. the manual tells me, but if it had been more detailled, i would not ask the question.

kind regards

Hi

Still no update

The manual is for a family laptop

. there are 2 batteries described in the maintenance guide:

Description Spare part number
4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 919701-850
3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 919700-850

If you go on any other website providing these parts, you have that warning:

example: https://www.laptopbatterydirect.com.au/hp-battery/919701-850-battery-hp.htm

Note :1. 10.95V and 111.1V are compatible, they are in common use.2. 14.6V and 14.8V are compatible, they are in common use.3. the 11.1V(=10.95V) and 14.8V(=14.6V) are the different voltages, they are not compatible, please choose the right battery(Voltage) for your laptop.

Mine has 1-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 919700-850

Does that mean that I cannot upgrade to 4 cells because of the voltage ?

4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery 919701-850 being 14.6V /14.8V ..

Can someone explain instead to ignore the thread ?

regards

Dom
