Hp 250 G6, Model 3168NGW
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I upgrade RAM for my HP 250 G6, Model 3168NGW, from 4GB to 12 GB. I installed 8GB Chip 2400MHZ with 260 Pins. My previous built in Ram is 4GB 2133MHZ. System showing 12GB Ram but speed is almost same. Is two different 2133 & 2400 MHZ are fine? I don't know about built in Ram Pins. Do I need to install both 2400 MHZ and this model supports 2400 MHZ or its fine with different Transfer rates. Processor is core i3 6006u

The motherboard will run the memory at 2133. 2400 will work but will downclock as you are seeing.

Thank you for your reply!

If I installed 2 8GB Chip of 2133 will it be great?

I don't know much about how you use your computer but installing a matched pair of modules is always a better plan because they will run in "dual channel" mode which is a bit faster on memory operations. Don't expect anything profound. The difference will be subtle.

Hy Huffer,

My concern is which memory module is better for my Laptop in terms of speed, (2133 or 2400) will 2400 work on my laptop model or only 2133 is option.  My Laptop is HP 250 G6 Ram Model 3168NGW

Thanks
