HP 250 G6 - is it possible to use/install M.2 SSD, SATA HDD (or second SSD) and optical drive in parallel?
I'd like to buy a HP 250 G6, supplied with M.2 SSD and optical DVD drive. I'd like to re-use my existing Samsung 850 EVO SSD (250 GB). Is it possible to build in these three mass storage units in parallel?
- M.2 SSD (256 GB) - included in System
- DVD±RW/CDR - included in System
- Samsung 850 EVO SATA 6 SSD (250 GB)
Due to my research I guess, it should work as I see different pysical formats and places in the HP 250 G6.
But I'd like to get a confirmation that my assumption is correct.
KR, Berath
PS: I've seen models of the HP 250 G6 with HHD's up to 1 TB or M.2 SSD's up to 256/512 GB

Yeah on the M.2 and hard drive it is an EITHER/OR thing. You cannot have both at the same time.
See page 52 of the Manual, linked above. To install an M.2 you have to have an adapter bracket and cable that are installed in the same bay where you would put a 2.5 inch standard laptop hard drive.
The M.2 that is being shipped with the unit will perform very much like the Evo 850 you already have so there is no point in swapping them out. If you were willing to give up the DVD drive, there are adapters you can use the put a 2.5 inch drive in the optical bay but it is far from an ideal solution.
Post back with any more questions.

Thanks Huffer - much appreciated!
The description in the manual was known by me, nevertheless I'm wondering if this is exactly the answer for my question.
Refert to the video rechable thru "Solid state drive" on the folleowing link
It looks like a different M.2 location within the HP 250 G6, does it?
And that the idea behind:
- M.2 SSD (256 GB) - included in System (I guees in the M.2 bay)
- DVD±RW/CDR - included in System (bay for optical drive)
- Samsung 850 EVO SATA 6 SSD (bay for HDD drive)
I do not have the Laptop, so I'm not able to check :-(.

I see the video and not sure how you got to it. The Manual shows other hardware in the position shown for the M.2 in the video. Ambiguous to say the least. The only way to know for sure is remove the back cover and visually inspect.
If you find an M.2 slot in the place depicted in the video, let us know.

Thats it ...
... but I'm with you - the only way to be sure is, open the box (if you have one)
I do not have one, thats the reason to ask this here

Also not finaly clear, but in the Maintenance and Service Guide for HP 250 G6 Notebook PC
First Edition: April 2017 (Document Part Number: 926816-001)
You'll find in Page 3:
- Internal Card: One M.2 slot for SSD
Realy confusing information from different sources

I actually trust the video more than the Manual, but I hesitate because it does not look like HP offers a dual drive configuration and if there is an M.2 slot why bother with the adapter piece for the 2.5 inch bay?
