HP 255 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been having an sleep mode ongoing issue with my HP 255 G7 Notebook PC. I had to put a new keyboard/top cover on as the other one was scuffed up pretty badly and the keys were sticking. Well, that was all done properly and correctly. But now, it will not sleep no matter what I do to it.

Below is a list of things I have done to try to address and resolve the Sleep Mode issue:

- I have ran  -powercfg -a, and I seem to be in the clear as far as issues there goes.

- I have tested the sleep mode function manually by right clicking on the Start Menu button and clicking "Shut down or sign out" and then clicking "Sleep" in which puts it to sleep successfully. But eventually, after a second or not even that, it wakes back up on it's own automatically and returns to the Windows 10 lock screen asking me to log back into Windows with my Microsoft Account password or PIN.

- I have checked my Network and Bluetooth Adapters in Device Manager to see if they could be causing the No Sleep issue by seeing if the box said "Allow this device to wake the computer" was checked and I verified that that wasn't the issue either as it has not been checked.

- I looked at the Event Logs in Event Viewer, and according to 2 logs, two of them have a warning tick next to one of them and an information tick next to the other one. The one with the warning tick says something about a BTHUSB under the System Event logs. According to Event 34, BTHUSB, it says "The local adapter does not support an important Low Energy controller state to support peripheral mode. The minimum required supported state mask is 0x2491f7ffffff, got 0xffffffff. Low Energy peripheral role functionality will not be available." The one with the information tick says something about Power-Troubleshooter under System Event Logs. According to Event 1, Power-Troubleshooter, it says "The system has returned from a low power state. Sleep time: 2021-08-11T04:36:45.411288600Z, Wake Time: 2021-08-11T04:36:50.476680600Z, Wake Source: Power Button." I thought it may have been the Bluetooth driver that needed to be updated, but as I stated before I updated the Bluetooth driver through HP Support Assistant and it did not resolve the sleep problem.

- I have also ran the -Powercfg -requests command via CMD, and there was no issue there.

I am running out of options of what to do here. Due to the computer not sleeping, it is wasting my Laptop's battery life which it has to be connected to AC power at all times.

I hope someone can help me get to this bottom of this. It's been going on now for 2 to 3 weeks.

Thank you and God bless!

- Jesse Williams
