HP 255 G8
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I orderd 20x HP 255 G8 and hoped they work with HP-USB-C Docks like our ProBooks, which have gotten quite expensive.

Now I have to realize that USB-C is not equal to USB-C. When connecting a screen, a popup tells me that some USB-Features may be restricted. I cannot connect a screen via USB-C-Dock. I tried both, HDMI and DP.

Can somebody provide more information to this scenario? Does HP use cheaper USB-C-Links for the 255 series?

Is it possible to use a common USB-C/A adapter like the ones provided in some new smartphone boxes?

Or do I have to buy the official "HP USB-C/A Universal Dockingstation G2"?

Thank you.

Regards.

The Smartphone adapter was nonsense, it is not USB-A.

But i found this one: HP 4,5 mm + USB-C Docking G2 Adapter

Do you think this might work with my USB-C-Dock G5?
