I bought this laptop last year, and from the first moment I bought it I had problems with it.
So first I had a problem where LAPTOP speeds went down to 0.4 Hz and some times the laptop was unusable. The bios update to it seems to fix that, I think that the bios update was the problem.
Now I have problem, I have r5 5500u with vega 7 and I want to play some casual games while I am at ship where I work, the games are not so demanding but for some reason the CPU is hard blocked to 15w.
It works like this, when you launch the game the CPU go to 30w for a few seconds, fans can't keep up with sudden spike, and then it reaches like 72c and it starts to throttle down to 15w and it will stay at 15w for rest of gaming session.
I want to increase the top to 25w without that thermal throttling because those 10w improve a lot 1% and 0.1% fps.
its a great laptop that you HP locked all of it so us consumers cant do anything with it.
I tried the 3 party software to increase it to 25w, but the moment it hits 70c it goes down to 15w and never again it will go to 25w.
I cant even change fan curve so while I game on it I can turn up fan curve so I can have much better gaming experience.
I don't want the answers did what is your bios version, did you check power management. I want for you to tell me can you send me an unblocked bios so I Can use this laptop how I want it, or is there a button so I can get inside advanced bios menu.
Thanks
