HP 450-G1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently installed a new motherboard on my HP 450-G1 and on boot up there are messages about missing serial number and product SKU and also System Board (00A), Manufacturing Mode Set. I cannot see where in the bios I can add this information. I tried Cntl+A to bring up extra menu in bios but it does nothing. Can anyone help to advise on what I nned to do ?

You might see this message after the system board is replaced. The message indicates that the serial number was not entered, or was entered incorrectly, after replacing the system board or other component.

You can read more about it here.

Thanks for the reply. What I need to know is how to enter the serial number and product SKU as I cannot see where to do it in the bios. The laptop is a HP 450-G1 running Windows 10.

Hi, @laptopbob did you change the motherboard on your own or did a technician handle it for you?

HP Recommended

I changed the motherboard on my own. I ordered the new motherboard from Ebay.

Hi, @laptopbob it is most likely that you did not install it properly then. It is best to take it to a computer technician even if it may cost extra. At least you will know your laptop is in safe hands.

I assumed changing the motherboard was just to unplug the cables, change the board and re-insert the cables. I have obviuosly missed something, but I am where i am and need to ask the forum how I can now enter the required information into system for a HP 450-G1. Can anyone help here ?
