I have an HP 470 G7 Notebook PC (Product number: 8VU24EA#UUW). I’m troubleshooting an issue where the system date/time and BIOS settings do not seem to persist correctly after restarts. From documentation, it seems that some notebooks have a separate RTC (CMOS) battery, while others rely on the main battery or an onboard backup circuit.

Could you please confirm if this specific model (HP 470 G7) has a dedicated RTC battery that can be replaced? I’ve already checked the Maintenance and Service Guide, but I don’t see any documented procedure for a separate CMOS battery. If there is a small coin cell or similar part, I’m okay with minor soldering (as long as it’s not on any major board components) to swap it out.

Below is the link to the parts list for your notebook:

HP PartSurfer

The motherboard part number and description is:

L67091-601
MOTHERBOARD DSC 530 2GB i7-10510U WIN

There is a picture of the motherboard when you click on the camera icon to the left of the part number.

There appears to be a coin cell battery in the upper right side of the picture.

Here is an eBay listing of the motherboard part number your notebook comes with.

HP 470 G7 Intel I7-10510U 1.8GHz Motherboard L67091-601 6050A3107701 | eBay

There appears to be what looks like a CMOS coin cell battery in the upper right side of the photo, but you'd have to explore it further to see if that is indeed a CR2032 battery.

And here is another picture of the same part number but the shape of the motherboard looks different and there is a 'battery' label on the motherboard by what appears to be a coin cell battery.
