Hi, the other day I was searching for a new cpu, because I already upgraded to 8GB ram. But the FSB is 800MHz and I want to upgrade it to 1066MHz, I already googled and found this:
http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_%28chipsets%29/GM45_Express.html
But I´m not sure the HP 620 is gonna support them all, after all some are quad core...
So can maybe someone make a list wich of those are supported for the HP 620 (from up to down the best cpus).

These are the best CPUs for the series:
P7570, 2.26-GHz, 1066-MHz FSB, 3-MB cache
P7370, 2.00-GHz, 1066-MHz FSB, 3-MB cache
T6670, 2.20-GHz, 800-MHz FSB, 2-MB cache
T6570, 2.10-GHz, 800-MHz FSB, 2-MB cache
These are Core 2 Duos. If you have a Celeron or Pentium dual processor you may have the GL40 chipset which does not work right with Core 2 Duos.
Here is the Service Manual:
p. 28-29. Different motherboard for GL40 chipset.
So post back if any more questions.

The original CPU was the celeron 900, but I upgraded it to the core duo T6670.
and speccy is saying it has te gm45 (even minecraft is saying it xD (in the log files of the game etc.)).
EDIT: it would be nice if there is a CPU with 2.8GHz or higher.

Greetings from Spain. Lately I've been trying to make my HP 620 useful again. I installed a 240gb ssd and upgraded to 8gb ram. When I read that the quad q9000 worked, I found and offer and bought it. I tried it today but the labtob didn't boot, the fan started moving but after a few seconds, it turned off again. I don't know if I did something wrong...
It has the gl40 and I haven't upgraded the bios, do I have to? Do I have any other options? It know has the pentium t4500, working at 2,3 Ghz... can it be overclocked or something??

Yeah, I know it doesn't work, I tried it (and I did because someone said it worked for him). Now I'm asking if I have any compatible processor better than the T4500, or if I have any other way to make my actual cpu work faster.
I appreciate every answer..

Hi there! I have the
HP 620
with Hewlett-Packard 1526 motherboard
it has Intel GL40 + ICH9M (Base). So only cpu's with 800MHZ FSB will work i supose. I have tried with 1066FSB and did not boot.
At this moment i have installed CPU Intel T9500 and it works great, i think it's your faster option, and mine off course. Or the Intel X9000 have not ried that one. The T9500 works fine at 2,66Ghz. I am running Windows 10 64 bits with ssd it runs smooth it's my computer. I do not play games. But i use it alot for other stuff, video work is slow, but image stuff is fine. I use as well for djing music.
