Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Battery icon on taskbar shows:  0% available (plugged in, not charging)

Replaced battery with HP 718755-001, SAME ISSUE.

When unplugged from power cord, laptop immediately shuts down.  Will not run on battery only.   Will not charge.

Followed instructions to update battery drivers via Control Panel>Device Manager, specifically the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.  Said driver software is current.

Tried to do battery test:  shutdown, restart and F2 to get to PC Diagnostics - on Win7 it does not show a 'battery test'.  Do not have HP Support Assistant installed (corporate controlled laptop) to run battery test via that method.

All previous help instructions on this forum are for Windows 10 or Windows 8 - this is a corporate laptop running Windows 7 64-bit.
