HP EliteDesk 800 G5 Small Form Factor PC

HP 800 G5 SFF. I'd say it is 'running' Linux but without a drive it really isn't running anything. LOL:

After upgrading to BIOS 02.22 I can no longer detect a Samsung 990 PRO 2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD MZ-V9P (in either slot). I know the drive is still fine because I have put it into an MSI laptop and HP 800 G5 MINI and it works just fine.

In addition to confirming the drive works, I have:

- Reverted the BIOS back two revisions (it seems to automatically revert the Intel Management version as well),

- Swapped the SSD between the two slots,

-Disconnected two SATA drives (which are working fine) at the motherboard.

- Turned M2 off, saved, reboot, turned it on, saved, reboot.

Nothing seems to work.

Thanks.

UPDATE: I just put in the NVMe that came with the system, an HP SSD EX900 M.2 250GB in SSD1 (with the non-working Samsung in SSD2), and it showed right up in 02.22. Erg.

FURTHER UPDATE:

That SSD that came with the system (the one the BIOS can see) has Windows 10 on it so I let it boot from that drive. Windows 10, on the HP 800 G5 SFF that I'm having issues with, can see and mount and format the Samsung SSD that the BIOS cannot see (I've gone back to BIOS v 02.22).

I also just realized that if I boot from USB using the Proxmox VE Installer, it can't see either the Samsung SSD or the Windows 10 disk.

All of this after a bios upgrade to 02.22 (yes, I've downgraded to 02.19 multiple times and then gone back up). At no point does the BIOS recognize the Samsung SSD anymore.

Hans, did you ever figure this out? I just got my G5 today, upgraded the BIOS, and BIOS can only see the nvme, not the ssd I added.
