Hi:

I am very surprised you got that message.  I didn't think that model series had a BIOS whitelist.

Why not install the Intel version which as the same specs and is listed as supported in the service manual?

Just make sure you get one with the HP part number on it.   Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

The card is readily available on Amazon or eBay.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

It is listed in chapter 3, page 29 of the service manual at the link  below.

I don't know of any place you can get a modified BIOS for that model.

Sir, Please help me to sort out.. Mine is HP Elitebook 840 G1( J5J36UP#ABA)  i got it in from the third party..  Now it contains Realtek Wireless Module but no Bluetooth and battery consumption is also more..  I would like to replace it with Intel Dual Wireless N 7260 Module.. But there are so many variants in that.. like AC, AN, BN & NB. I'm confused about which one I have to purchase .. which is good for my PC ??   What is the difference between these variants? If I purchase 'AC' variant will it work.. Please help me..

Thank you..
