Hello everyone
i have a question
i have recently bought an 8560w that have 1 module of ram 4gb pc3 12800
i have removed from my old laptop other 2 modules of ram but they are 4gb PC3L 12800
the 8560 is working fine but i am not sure that the low voltage ram modules can damage mainboard (1631 kbc 01.3B)
i haven’t found any specification about the MB
Can i use the ram?
can you help me please?
thank you so much
and happy new year to everyone.

Hi:
The Crucial memory report for your notebook suggests DDR3L memory is supported.
https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/elitebook-8560w
It is my understanding that 1.35V memory would never damage the motherboard.
If it was not supported, the PC would not boot up.
It's the other way around...if you install 1.5V memory in a notebook that is designed to run 1.35V memory, the BIOS will actually warn you that you have installed unsupported memory of the wrong voltage.
Happy New Year to you as well!
