HP AC Adapter 230W compatibility

Hello,

I have zBook 15 G2 "i7 4900MQ CPU, k2100M GPU" I use 120W AC adapter but, it seems it has a problem, When I connect it to the laptop the power & charging lid keeps flashing and the machine won't post up, so I tried to connect it with 230W AC Adapter it worked just fine.

can you please advise me if this 230W AC adapter is not going to harm my laptop through long-term ?!

120W prt# : 519331-002

230W prt# : 608432-001 (19.5V - 11.8A)

Very interesting. Your machine should come with one of the following parts

• 200-W HP Smart adapter (PFC, 3-wire, 4.5-mm) part # 693708-001
• 150-W HP Smart adapter (PFC, 3-wire, 4.5-mm) part # 693707-001

Most likely it came with the 200W charger that why you are having the problem with only 120W. Is it your machine from day one ? Anyway, you can use 230W given it is perfectly fit otherwise buy the 200W charger.

thanks for your support buddy, I bought it a year and a half ago with the 120W and the guy who sale it to me said "don't worry it shall work just fine" and I don't know why I believed him, anyway can you please help me buy a new one as I searched; 

but I like to order a genuine brand new.
