HP Spectre x360 - 15-ch055na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was in the BIOS setup menu and left my notebook for 10 minutes. When I got back, my device was literally BOILING HOT to touch, yet the fans were on minimum speed. I immediately exited the BIOS page and entered Windows. As soon as I did this, the fans started to kick in at full speed. I checked the temperature of my CPU and all four cores were at 99 Celsius (210 F) and after around 20 seconds, my notebook shut down to prevent any overheating. There must have been a bug in the BIOS setup page that prevented my fans from speeding up or my notebook from shutting down. As my CPU was at over 210 F for over 10 minutes, it has now been permanently damaged - my notebook keeps crashing after less than 2 minutes of being on. I am so annoyed that such a small bug has caused such an expensive notebook to be completely destroyed. To add to the frustration, the CPUs on my notebook are soldered to the board meaning that they can't be replaced.

If this was a bug caused on HP’s behalf, then they should offer a replacement module even if you are out of warranty.
