Hi,

 

I bought my HP laptop last January 9 2023. I noticed that my battery drain so fast. After I charged it into 100%, I recorded the detailed info on the battery section after I used it for 2 and half hours.

Here are the summary:

at 12 am January 13 - battery is at 100%

at 1 am January 13 - battery is at 67%

at 2 am January 13 - battery is at 33%

at 2:27 am January 13 - battery is at 19%

 

Is this normal? 

 

I was thinking to replaced it since it is still under warranty.

 

Can anyone help me to elaborate or explain if this is normal for an HP laptop?

Let me check your basic system configuration before we focus on the <battery> ...

 

(1) Run    msinfo32

- Select <System Summary>:

--->>> Copy/screenshot/paste following key/value pairs:

 

OS Name

Version

System Model

System SKU

( equals HP product number (p/n) )

Processor

BIOS Version/Date

 

(2) Please report back

(1) Create Windows system <restore point>

(2) Download and install BIOS Update

Why should you install the update ?

Quote: "

Updating the BIOS is recommended as standard maintenance of the computer. It can also help resolve the following issues:

- An available BIOS update resolves a specific issue or improves computer performance.

- The current BIOS does not support a hardware component or a Windows upgrade.

- HP Support recommends installing a specific BIOS update.

"

 

(3) Reboot

(4) Let BIOS be installed until it's completely done !

(5) Download and install / update

Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver

2210.2.80.0 Rev.B1.6 MBJul 28, 2022Download

 

(6) Restart Windows

(7) Test your notebook

(8) Please report back
