Hello @Bennie44,

A specific model name or product number would be appreciated. E.g. HP Spectre x360 - 13-ap0028ca or 5MT98UA#ABL

Information on how to find a laptop's model name or product number is detailed in this HP document. (Please do not post serial numbers on the HP Support Community. The difference between a product number and a serial number is that the product number contains a # sign)

Kind regards,

Eddy

The information that I have is Model #17-BS049DX , HP - 17.3"Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 8gb memory, 1TE hard drive.

The HP Notebook - 17-bs049dx uses a 3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery with HP Spare Part number 919700-850.

You can find parts through the HP Parts Store. You'll find the majority of parts available there but it's common for them to be back-ordered or unavailable. You may be able to find the part online through third-parties.

HP also lists authorized parts partners if you navigate around the link above but the most common method users find spare parts is through online resellers or third parties.

The replacement should be very straightforward. You can pull out the old battery by pulling the two latches on the back inwards.

Hope that helps.
