HP Recommended

The laptop was not plugged in and had been left in sleep mode when I suddenly noticed a strong burning smell coming from it. Upon approaching the device, I saw a visible and continuous spark coming from the left side of the laptop, near the ventilation area or internal components. The device was not in use at the time and had been stationary. I immediately moved it to a safe location. The sparking lasted several seconds before stopping on its own, but the smell of burnt plastic and electronics persisted. This incident was extremely concerning, as the laptop was unattended and not charging, yet still became a serious fire risk
