What I have done in the past is extract the BIOS to a USB flash drive and plug it into one of the ports and then press the power button. Sometimes it works, but other times not. Try this with the sp51527 version, not the Winflash BIOS downloads
Sorry to hear that, but considering that the CQ61 series laptops are from the 2009 marketing years, it was only a matter of time.

It is unfortunate, but since HP retired the CQ81 series laptop and its supporting documentation, I have unable to find more information on the older generation series.

Don't take this the wrong way, but your forum name says you are a developer.
You really should consider using an internet search engine as a resource.
BIOS forums are also a really good resource.

Connect the power adapter, plug the FAT32 formatted USB flash drive into a USB port of the laptop and press the power button and watch and wait.
It will either respond with a recovering BIOS message or it won't.
It will take time to happen, so be patient.
If nothing happens after two or three minutes, it is not going to work.
After that is you know how and have a programmer, you can program a new compatible BIOS chip and replace the one on the laptop system board with the new preprogrammed one.
