I own an HP Compaq Presario CQ60-420US and I’m wondering if it’s possible to upgrade the CPU. If it is, I’d like to know which CPU would be the best option. Additionally, I’m curious if the laptop supports DDR3 RAM. Lastly, I’d like to inquire about the compatibility of using an external graphics card with the current processor, which is the Intel® Pentium® Processor T4200 (1M Cache, 2.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB).

It is too old, HP does not keep its specs, only
https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-Compaq-Presario-CQ60-420us.19389.0.html
You can use the list on page 4-44 of the following manual to select a right CPU (Intel) for your machine.
https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02985882
Manual also shows you how to replace CPU.
For GPU, your machine DOES NOT have any internal NOR external port which is suitable for an eGPU. Please note: it is a 12 years old machine.

Hi, @Dhruvv1511
You have to know what chipset your notebook has in order to install the right processor.
The GM45 chipset supports processors with a 1066 MHz FSB but the GL40 chipset can only support processors with an 800 MHz FSB.
Run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below and it will tell you what chipset your notebook has.
If it has the GM45 chipset, you can install one of the processors listed in chapter 1 of the service manual that have a 1066 MHz FSB
If it has a GL40 chipset you can install the T5800 or T5900.
There are other processors you can install with an 800 MHz FSB that are not listed in the manual such as the T6600 or T9500.
You cannot use DDR3 memory in a notebook that has DDR2 memory.
DDR3 memory runs at a lower voltage than DDR2 memory, has a different number of contact pins and the slot is cut in a different place making it impossible to even fit the memory in your notebook's memory slot.

Thank you for sharing this valuable information! Knowing the chipset of my notebook is crucial for installing the right processor.
Also, thanks for the heads up about DDR3 memory not being compatible with a notebook that has DDR2 memory.
I really appreciate your guidance and the effort you put into helping me with this. It's been incredibly useful!
Best regards.
