HP Compaq Presario CQ61-402SA Notebook - CPU 100% utilization

I have pretty old laptop but less used, it become very slow - recently upgrade RAM 2G - 3G and HDD to SSD.

it boot pretty fast but - when I try to open any application like chrome CPU utilization 100% tried modifying the affinity but no use. 

I think if we upgrade CPU will that help - this laptop can be used for my son online class atleast. kindly provide me your inputs.

let me know if CPU upgrade work and what model of CPU to be upgraded.

It's not a simple process to replace the CPU.  They are soldered to the system board, which includes the system memory and very often, the graphics chip.  You have to disassemble the entire laptop and replace the entire board.  For older laptops, like this one, HP no longer carries the boards so you would have to search online, and anything you find would be USED. In addition, you would have to buy a new copy of Windows because the one you are using now is tied to your current board and the license will not transfer to a second board.

This is difficult, risky work -- and can easily cost more than replacing the laptop outright, and HP does not do this kind of work.

So, you would have to get estimates from whomever you want to do the work.

thank you for the response! however, I have seen for some models processor can be replaced after disassemble of laptop.

If you have any suggestion / advise what model of processor is suitable for my laptop.

Either way if you have any solution CPU utilization issue. If I open a chrome browser &  search / open any website it goes to 100%. And I had replaced HDD --> SSD and RAM 3G DDR2 ( 2GB + 1GB ) boots pretty fast 6 - 7 sec desktop appears - but when I use the any application process hits 100%.
