Recently my computer crashed. I was able to run a System Fast test and the Hard Drive SMART Check failed. I really need to save the photos and some work on the computer. Help!

You are going to need to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

After you replace the drive, your notebook should be supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.

 

Using another Windows PC with W7 64 bit or newer, you can create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

You may not be able to recover any files from the current drive, but you can try doing so by purchasing a SATA to USB cable.

 

Plug one end into the failed hard drive and the other end into a PC's USB port, and see if you can read/copy any files from the failed drive to the PC.
