Hi,
I have had a HP DM4-3002sa Pavilion laptop for quite a few years now and have always believed that the maximum memory for this system was 8GB DDR3 ram.
I have recently seen conflicting reports from other sites which state theis will actually take upto 16GB DDR3 RAM.
Could anyone at HP please confirm which is correct as If it will take 16GB it will be worth the upgrade.
HP support assistant states the product number as follows :A8J22EA#ABU
EDIT - It does have the installed 6GB total ram at the moment - 4GB+2GB SODIMM

Thanks for your reply REO,
It is your second link which caused me the confusion as this states:
Is this just an error on the support site?

I just noticed you are located in the UK.
● 16384-MB total system memory (8192 × 2 @ 1333-MHz, not supported with 32-bit operating
system, available only in the United States)
If it was sold outside the US then 8GB is max.
Why I have no idea???

Looking at the other document it may be because this was originally a 32 bit OS but when Microsoft gave us all free upgrades to Windows 10 I believe I chose 64 bit version.
It may be down to the OS supplied by HP.
I will get one stick of 8GB and try it. If it works will report back.
