HP Laptop - 15s-du2002tu
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, my hp laptop du2002tu has 8gb Ram. My laptops processor is i3-1005G1. It supports DDR4 and LPDDR4 ram upto 32gb. I want to remove my older 8gb ram and apply a DDR5 8gb Ram laptop. I am not telling about trying to combine ram. But since my processor supports upto DDR4, is there any way to upgrade the memory type to DDR5 or LPDDR5 from an authorised service center ?

No way.

What you want to do is impossible.

You will need to buy a newer notebook that comes with DDR5 memory.

Hi:

Unfortunately, that would be impossible.

DDR5 memory runs at a lower voltage, has a different number of contact pins and the slot is cut in a different place than it is in DDR4 memory, making it impossible to fit the memory in a slot designed for DDR4.

LPDDR memory is used for notebooks that have the memory soldered to the motherboard at the assembly plant.

Is there any way to upgrade the DDR4 / LPDDR4 ram slot to fit DDR5 / LPDDR5 ram ? I want to know if service center can do it.
