HP ENVY 15-ep0010na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just bought the new HP ENVY 15-ep0010na (i9 version). When I switched this on for the first time I noticed that the fan constantly runs quite high, and very loud. I switched off the "fan always on" setting within the BIOS which makes it much more bearable. I've also adjusted the power settings but this has an impact on performance which is not really ideal when spending so much money on a high performance laptop.

However one thing that is very annoying is the constant whistle/whining noise it makes when the fan does come on. I've seen similar posts for other models and normally a BIOS update is suggested. I'm hoping there is a similar fix for this otherwise I think I may have to return the device as it's just too much of a distraction.

Thanks

I reviewed your post and I understand that the fan is making a loud noise.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

@The_Fossette - Thanks for the reply. I've actually returned the laptop as the store I bought it from agreed that there was probably something wrong with that device. I'm currently awaiting a replacement so fingers cross there are no issues with this one.

Thanks
