Samsung cloning software is a stripped down version of Acronis True Image which is what I use when I want to clone. Yes the cloning software will prepare the new drive. Just follow the prompts. Cloning can sometimes be a little difficult if you go from a larger to a smaller drive. Yes, you could do a clean install of Windows 10 that is what I am trying to tell you to do with the system image backup. Best of both worlds. New system files and partitions but all your old apps and files.
You can make a free Windows 10 installer that will need no Key Code at the Microsoft Media Creation Tool site.

Yes it is. Just follow the procedure shown on page 38 of the Service Manual to replace the hard drive. Evo 850 will bolt right in where the hard drive is now and there is even an easy access panel which is rare now.
The hard part will be software migration/reinstallation but we can help with that if you just ask.

That is one way (cloning) and I have done that but I have also had good success using the built in Windows system image backup to an external drive and then when you install Windows on the SSD choose to install from a system image. Works the same as cloning except it puts new system partitions on and does not just copy the old ones. App, files, settings transfer over just like a clone.
