Hi

I have an issue that my screen is coming away from my laptop, the hinges have broken on the side and the keyboard has lifted.

The part that needs fixing is the keyboard as its the sides that arent fitting onto the laptop now.

I am struggling to find the correct part - can anyone help me with this?

Alternatively how do i send it to HP for repairs?

That is generally the most expensive way to go about it. You are better off to find a local repair shop. I see you are in UK. You might contact an HP Service Center and see if they can even get the necessary parts. The laptop is now considered pretty old and HP may not stock the parts any more.

Here's the Manual:

Look at the exploded diagram on p. 19 and let us know by part number what you need. With hinge issues, end users often underestimate what is needed to properly repair it. You almost certainly need to replace the hinges and you may need to replace the Base Enclosure and even the screen housing if the hinges have made a lot of damage inside the laptop. You can't fix it just by replacing what seems to be broken externally. You have to pretty much completely disassemble.

Thank you

Can I send it away to HP for out of warranty repair?
