My brother gifted me an HP ENVY x360 Convertible when I started college. Recently, the right hinge failed causing part of the screen's internals to be stuck in the closed position. When attempting to contact HP support I wasn't able to find a way to get in touch with a representative directly. I was told by Micro Center that it would cost 500$+ to attempt a repair, and even then there were no guarantees they would be able to fix it.

I always keep the laptop in a protective carrying case to prevent damages. The laptop has not been dropped or otherwise mistreated in any way, and it had been in perfect working order until the hinge stuck.
