Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have an HP Envy 15-j002tx (Product: E8B17PA#ABG) with BIOS version F.66.
I am upgrading the RAM to 32 GB (2×16 GB DDR3L) but the laptop only recognizes 7–8 GB usable due to BIOS limitations.
I understand BIOS F.76 (SoftPaq sp78182.exe) resolves this memory compatibility issue.
Please provide me with the BIOS F.76 update file or a working download link so I can complete my upgrade.
Thank you!

Are you sure ? Please read

Upgrading the RAM in an HP Envy 15-j002tx can significantly improve performance, especially when dealing with memory-intensive tasks or running multiple applications simultaneously. The 15-j002tx supports a maximum of 16GB of RAM, and upgrading from a smaller amount like 4GB or 8GB can lead to noticeable speed and responsiveness improvements.

Also please check

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

From here, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

And on page 5 of its manual

Two customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots
Support for DDR3L (1600-MHz) dual channel
Support for 16834-MB of system RAM in the following configurations:
● 16834-MB (8192-MB×2)
● 12288-MB (8192-MB+4096-MB)
● 8192-MB (8192-MB×1, 4096-MB×2)
● 6144-MB (4096-MB+2048-MB)
● 4096-MB (4096-MB×1, 2048-MB×2)

Regards.

Well, you have to ask person(s) who had upgraded the machine then. I still believe you can NOT.
