I bought an X360 last December and I have had so many problems with it! Besides the trackpad being glitchy and intermittent (I ended up buying a separate mouse), it also likes to randomly restart when left in standby mode which means I lose all my work.....It also has a weird glitch that means that often when I turn it back on from standby, the WIFI card has a seizure and stops working, meaning I have to restart the laptop....Not great when working in the cloud and cannot save anything. Even worse than this though, my laptop is regularly reaching temperatures of over 100 degrees!!!! It becomes incredibly hot to touch and has **bleep** itself down from overheating. I once left it plugged in and on the table in standby and when I returned the laptop had reached 103 degrees and then shut itself down and refused to turn back on for half an hour. I am at a loss with this laptop and am begining to wish I hadn't bought it.
Please, please, can someone help sort this laptop out once and for all.
Thanks

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
use the following steps:
- Shut down the computer, and then inspect and clean the exterior vents to remove dust buildup by blowing air through the vent openings. Dust can accumulate inside the vent openings and around internal cooling components, preventing the removal of heat.
For more information on reducing heat inside your computer, see Reducing Heat Inside the PC.
- After you remove the dust, turn on the computer. If the error message persists, continue with these steps.
- Perform a hard reset. Performing a hard reset can reset recorded thermal values in memory and enable you to use the computer again, even if only for a short time to access and save any important files before service.
For more information on performing a hard reset, see Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues.
- In some cases, updating the BIOS might help prevent this error from occurring. For more information on how to update the BIOS, see Updating the BIOS.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
