Hello people.

The reason why I wanted to upgrade my laptop to a SSD drive is because my HDD died and my friends recommended me to replace it with SSD. I only wanted the 256 GB SSD because I don't really like to have a 1 TB space, since I don't really consume quite a lot of hard drive space.

Question: Is it posssible to upgrade? Is it compatible? If possible, what are the ways to do it.

Thanks...

Yes.

Yes.

By using a "disk-cloning" program.

First, "defragment" the disk-drive, to move all the "free" space to the end of the partition.

Buy the SSD - it may include such a program.

The program will be able to "resize" the large 'C:' partition down to a size that fits onto the 256 GB disk-drive, as it is copying all the partitions from "source" to "target".

Connect the disk-drive to your computer.

After the "cloning" has completed, remove the original disk-drive, and connect the SSD, in its place.

Thanks for the help. I'm currently looking in the manual about the removal of hard drive, which looks good so far. I'm sure my laptop will work much faster with SSD than ever than before 😄
