My notebook's backlight Fn key has a high, low and off setting depending on how many times you press the key.

 

If your notebook's Fn key doesn't work like that, unfortunately I wouldn't know what the problem could be.

As seen below (Picture not to clear) I can only see the key (F5) which has a Backlit logo that is all  so probably not a adjustment on it does that mean the keyboard light is going out?

If pressing the key just turns the light on and off and there's no pressing it 3 times max bright, less bright and off, then the light must be going out on you.

ah well looking at keyboards they got about 45.00 thru china I replaced one before so I will wait until it is gone

also this item 197032954243 says SKU 284-73--014    is that a part numver?

Yes, as you can see from the list of notebooks that part number is used in, there are some m6-nXXX's listed there.

I  took mine apart and his has the same numbers as mine which is 774153-001  and he was 774153-001 so I bought it for 25.00 plus the keyboard and touch pad  included it is a little dirty but I am sure will clean up

when taking mine apart the bottom cover fell off that hold one of the screws on no problem just glued it
