Hi,
I am very confused around chargers suitable for this laptop. When consulting the paperwork re this laptop online, they all document that a 45W charger is supplied, however mine has come with a 65W charger. The inscription on the laptop rates the battery at 19.V/3.33A - therefore 65W.
I am looking at purchasing a second charger for keeping in my university backpack. I want something that charges by USB C so that it can service my phone as well. I am very confused as most available chargers have 20V output.
Am I going to be safe to buy a 20V output charger? Will a lower amp rating affect my battery? Even though the laptop specs advise that the laptop uses a 45W charger?
Look forward to having some clarification and assistance!!! TIA

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,
According to the product specifications it shows that your notebook has been shipped with 45 W AC power adapter Power supply.
In order to check the compatibility, I would recommend you go through the Maintenance and service guide of your notebook. Here you will find the list of parts which are compatible and tested for your notebook.
For the Part information, please go through the Chapter 1. Product description - Page number 3.
For the Spare part number, please go to Chapter 3. Illustrated parts catalog - Page number 18
Please note, these are the parts which are tested on your PC, If you wish to try other parts you can try it at your own discretion, HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance.
Alternatively, You could replace the part on your own, use the HP Partsurfer to identify the part: Click here & order it via the HP Parts store (Click here).
