Like many others here, the hinge on my HP Envy x360 broke. One day I opened it and felt some resistance and heard a cracking sound. The metal hinge had broken out of the plastic holding it to the display case and punched a hole in my screen. The laptop is from June of 2023 (less than two years old) and I have always been very gentle with it. I contacted customer service at (Edited) and the created a ticket, then transferred me to the repair center.
I explained the situation, that the computer was out of warranty but that the break was a known issue with the manufacturing of the laptop. They said it was damaged by the end user (not true) and that I would have to pay for the repairs (hundreds of dollars) out of pocket because the laptop is out of warranty. I have seen some people on this forum get their x360s fixed for free out of warranty due to the endemic nature of the problem. That's what I am hoping for but I don't know who I would get in contact with beyond posting here.

@JM1066, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding broken hinge issue!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand how frustrating this must be, especially when you've handled it with care.
Since the laptop is out of warranty, repairs would typically involve a nominal service fee. Let me know if you are interested in that!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
