I current have the HP ENVY x360 - 15-cn0013nr, the fan runs very very loud and causes the performance of the machine to slow down at times to a crawl. I have 16 gig RAM never going above 25%, there is almost now activity on the HD either. I have found that if I have nothing plugged into the USB this sometimes subsides. But not as I m writing this, the Fan is going nuts. I have been using a Targus Dock with 2 Monitors and a wired internet connection, so I remove those and just run the laptop with its own screen getting rid of the Targus Dock, yes i had all the proper drivers for the dock installed. I have virus scan with windows defender and no Virus or Malware found. Issue still persists. I have totally re-installed the windows 10 Pro OS issues still persists. I have then installed a new HD figuring i had an issue with the NVME HD, installed windows pro again issue still there. This laptop has been great for the last 2 yrs and all of a sudden, its gone down hill. I checked out all the drivers on the HP site for this laptop but there is nothing for the current build of windows pro i am running- win1- pro 1909. I went to the intel site to update drivers and it says all up to date. Im thinking it might be the motherboard that needs to be replaced. Anyone else have similar issues? any help or recommendations would be appreciated!

I reviewed your post and I understand the fan is making a loud noise.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

If you continue facing the issue, then run a system test on the computer following the steps in the below article.
