HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ee1000 (2E2L0AV)
The left hinge on my laptop just cracked. The laptop has very little wear and tear as I use a hub and hardly even open it. Nonetheless, the left hinge has cracked. many plastic pieces have fallen out. What can I do here? I am new to this board (first time), so please talk to me like a 3rd grader (LOL) and direct me how to resolve this.

I’m really sorry to hear about the hinge issue with your HP ENVY x360 15-ee1000 series laptop. I can imagine how frustrating that must be, especially when you’ve taken such good care of it. Don’t worry, we’ll walk you through this step by step.

To help us check the best possible repair options, could you please:

  • Share a few clear images of the damaged hinge area (from both the open and closed positions if possible).
  • Send your laptop’s serial number and product number (P/N) in a private message. You can usually find these at the bottom of the laptop or inside the HP Support Assistant app.


Once we have those details, we’ll be able to:

  • Check your warranty status,

Thank you for sharing the details. I’ve checked, and it appears that your PC’s warranty expired some time ago. I also see that you had already been in touch with our support team, who informed you that the service would be chargeable. Since the service was declined, the case was closed.
 

Would you like me to check and share the estimated service charges for you?

You have been great. Thank you for checking on my warranty. Yes, the warranty has expired just like the hundreds of customers that have reported this issue to HP.  You are correct, I did contact the support team to explain this is an inherent flaw in the materials or design of the product and should not be dismissed because the warranty has expired.  I find it hard to believe HP  knowingly selling such a flawed product and not even bothering to make their customers whole. The support team did not even address my concerns, they simply reported the warranty is expired and closed the case. Which sounds like what is happening here as well.

 

I get there is nothing further you can do and I want to thank you for your time. You did offer to get me an estimate on how much it would be to service it. I would not mind knowing the estimated cost, if you have the time. If not, no worries. i will figure this thing out.

 

I cannot really "Accept the Solution" since I was not really given a solution. I am going to look into this further and figure out my options.
