This HP ENVY x360 15m-bp111dx will not detect the keyboard and touchpad. I have to use an external keyboard and mouse in order for me to use the laptop. The touchscreen works when folding it into tablet mode and when it's back into the original laptop position.
When I go into the BIOS, I can use the touchpad and keyboard. I was also able to run a keyboard and touchpad test (both tests passed successfully), so I know that I don't need to replace the keyboard or the touchpad.
I've performed the following:
1. Reset Laptop (Kept my files method)
2. Remove then install the drivers for the keyboard from Device Manager
3. Performed Full Diagnostics Test
4. Run all Windows Updates
5. Followed a few forums where I installed HP Drivers to update the Laptop
6. Troubleshooting the keyboard from Windows when I sign in
Maybe I'm missing a step or going to a specific spot in the BIOS or on another part of this laptop that activate the touchpad and mouse. It just seems that as soon as the HP logo comes up after a few seconds of booting up, the keyboard and touchpad get disabled. I appreciate any support regarding this issue.

It sounds like you've covered most of the common troubleshooting steps for your HP ENVY x360 15. Given that the keyboard and touchpad work in the BIOS but not in Windows, it’s likely a driver or software issue rather than a hardware failure.
Here are a few more steps to try.
Check for Disabled Devices
- Go to Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select "Device Manager."
- Check Input Devices: Look for "Keyboards" and "Mice and other pointing devices." Make sure no devices are disabled. If you see any greyed-out entries, right-click and enable them.
Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers
- BIOS Update: Since you can access the BIOS, check if there's an updated version available on the HP website. Sometimes a BIOS update can resolve hardware compatibility issues.
- Chipset Drivers: Go to the HP support website, search for your laptop model, and download the latest chipset drivers. Install them and restart your laptop.
Check for Conflicting Software
- Clean Boot: Perform a clean boot to see if any third-party software is interfering with the keyboard and touchpad.
- Press Win + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
- Go to the "Services" tab, check "Hide all Microsoft services," and click "Disable all."
- Go to the "Startup" tab and click "Open Task Manager." Disable all startup items.
- Restart your laptop and check if the issue persists.
Reinstall Windows Input Drivers
- Uninstall Drivers: Go to Device Manager, right-click on the keyboard and touchpad drivers, and select "Uninstall device."
- Reboot: Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.

Check Touchpad Settings
- Settings: Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and ensure that the touchpad is enabled.
- Synaptics/ELAN: If you have additional touchpad software like Synaptics or ELAN, open it and check if the touchpad is enabled.
Check for Windows Updates Again
- Updates: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and make sure all updates are installed. Sometimes, additional updates might be available.
Perform System File Check
- SFC Scan: Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run sfc /scannow to check for and repair any corrupted system files.
System Restore
- If none of the above steps work, consider performing a System Restore to a point where the keyboard and touchpad were working.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, you might need to consider a fresh installation of Windows.

Thank you reaching out to my question.
Here are the results from what you recommended:
Check for Disabled Devices: I checked and no device has been disabled.
Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers I updated the latest BIOS and Chipset Driver, but looking at the other latest Updates for this specific model laptop from HP.
Check for Conflicting Software: I performed all these tasks, but with no luck upon rebooting,
Reinstall Windows Input Drivers: I removed these and performed a reboot, but with no luck either.
I did Update the Laptop to Windows 11 and have a few pending updates at the moment, so I let all the Updates go through and try again.

A power reset has much more effect than a reset of the operating system.
The reason is that the power reset is at the firmware level and a Windows reset is at the software level.
The software level does not affect the hardware in the same manner that firmware does.
BIOS is firmware. If the BIOS is corrupt a PC or laptop stops working and at the most may provide LED error codes.
Checking for a BIOS update and creating and using a USB BIOS recovery flash-drive may resolve the issue.
You will need a 32GB USB 3.0 flash drive. It is recommended that when you update, connect it to a USB 2.0 port.
The BIOS updates that are specifically compatible with your laptop are at the link below.
I recommend looking at the bottom of the document at Revisions, opening it and trying one of the earlier BIOS updates first.
