I was wondering if it were possible to get this kind of laptop from 2017 all the way to 32gigs of ram

I checked the Crucial website, where they sell RAM sticks for this, and they say the maximum memory is 16GB -- since they're in this to make money selling RAM, if it could be upgraded, I would think they would say that.

Hi, @TK223

I'm thinking you can:

If the product specs at the link below, your notebook has an Intel® Core™ i7-8550U processor and two memory slots.

HP ENVY x360 - 15m-bp112dx Product Specifications | HP® Support

The one thing that is wrong about the specs is your notebook uses DDR4-2400 memory, not DDR4-2133 MHz memory, so if you decide to see if 32 GB of memory will work and your notebook really does have DDR4-2133 MHz memory installed make sure the memory you buy is DDR4-2400 CL17, DDR4-2666 CL19 or DDR4-3200 CL22.

Normally HP notebooks with the Intel 8th gen core processors will support 2 x 16 GB of memory.

You can run this command to see if it would be possible to install 2 x 16 GB of memory.

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
