HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15m-cn0xxx. Three weeks ago the palm rest assembly separated from the bottom case assembly on the front left corner below E N V Y while the laptop was on my desk overnight. It looks like the plastic tabs that the screws thread into just broke-off at their base allowing that corner to separate 1/4 inch. Tonight I heard a loud "snap" and the top/bottom cases separated even more in front as if something inside is pushing them apart. This is my first HP. it's about 4 years old and just stays on my desk at home.
1. Has anyone had this problem or know if this is a common problem with HP laptops?
2. Any ideas about what could possibly cause the top/bottom cases to be pushed apart?
3. Does anyone know where or how much it might cost to have the case replaced?
Thanks,
Steve
