HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop PC 13m-bd1000 (460Q3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a less than 2 year old babied, HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13m-bd1033dx (4P5Y0UA) with a well known, well reported lid display nut failure issue. Right-hinge is still intact & display gets pushed out. I removed hinge screws and inserted hinge behind the display, so I will be able to salvage my data. Two tiny nuts separated from the lid. Suggestions to epoxy these nuts back in are unacceptable as posted online. This is a serious known design failure. I paid circa $1000.00 for this Windows 11 machine from Best Buy. Their was a class action law suit that was settled with the one plaintiff settling. So it appears some were appeased. Disappointed in this China built flimsy piece of crap. I will wait for a short period of time for an HP response, then I will go social with this. It's already all over Reddit. I have been told by a Distributor that Lenovo makes a superior product. HP was a great company when I worked in the bay area, who approved this crap flimsy design, I don't even use it as a reversed tablet or it would have broken sooner, again very disappointed.

Hi @RJW14,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that this is a Hardware issue. However, the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. Since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who can schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

Please mark this post as Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes
