HP ENVY x360 m6 Convertible 103dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have the following computer (HP ENVY x360 - m6-w103dx (ENERGY STAR), Serial number: [edit] , Product number: M1V66UA, Windows 10, 64 bit). The warranty has expired on this computer. I have been getting HDD failure imminent messages. Yesterday, I had to reset the computer to factory settings.

Do I need to change my HDD?

If yes, can I switch to SSD and what capacity my computer can support (256/512 GB)

What is the specification of the SSD I need to buy.

Here's your Service Manual:

Manual

Yes any HDD error must be taken seriously and you just need to replace the drive. See p. 29 of the Manual. You can replace a spinning mechanical drive with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD like Samsung 860 Evo. It can also apprently take an M.2 SATA SSD but the manual has no good image as to how you install such a disk and it would be no faster than a 2.5 inch SATA SSD in the hard drive slot.

Post back if you need any more help and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
