HP Elitebook 850 G2- can not open back battery area to replace. Slide tab works, back will not slide to open back. 

Assume battery is dead since it will not hold charge and goes dead and have to repot if I disconnect the power cord. Thank you

The back part does not slide.

 

You have to hold the slide button and then you may need to use a plastic implement, maybe a cell phone plastic spudger tool, to open the back and then remove it.
