Elite book 840 g10 not booting. The fan runs loudly and there is light on the cursor key and also a on f5 and f8 keys. The problem started soon after a firmware upgrade. Have tried hard reset but its not working.  Laptop is one week old.

Try recovering to the previous BIOS version.

Plug in the power adapter. Hold down the Windows and the B keys.

While still holding them down (for at least 45 seconds or more) tap the power button and release it.

It will take some time for the BIOS to respond and show an onscreen message that says it is recovering the BIOS,

When that happens you can release the keys.

Do not interrupt the recovery process , because doing that can brick the laptop. 😖
