Hello HP Community,

I have an HP EliteBook 840 G3 with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6300U CPU @ 2.40GHz. I'm interested in upgrading my storage to an NVMe SSD.

I would like to know if my laptop's motherboard supports NVMe drives and if there are any specific requirements or limitations I should be aware of.

Specifically, I'd appreciate information on:

  • NVMe compatibility: Does the HP EliteBook 840 G3 support NVMe SSDs?
  • BIOS settings: Are there any specific BIOS settings I need to configure for NVMe support?
  • Recommended NVMe drives: Are there any recommended NVMe drives that are known to work well with this model?
  • Potential limitations: Are there any potential limitations or compatibility issues I should be aware of?
