I bought a second-hand HP EliteBook Aero G8 (11th Gen i7, 16 GB RAM, Touch screen FHD) from a local store, and although it has a SIM card tray, it doesn't detect any SIM card put in it. I opened the laptop to check if there even was a WWAN card, but there wasn't. If I wanted to put in a 5G WWAN card, first of all, is it even possible? If yes, which one should I get?

Maintenance and Service Guide

 

Chapter 3 page 20 has the supported WWAN cards with their HP part numbers.

 

If the antenna wires are there to connect the WWAN card to, you should be able to install one.
