Hello HP community. I started working with a HP laptop recently as i received one from my job, I am a software developer.

I have an issue where my computer starts running extremely slow at times. Especially when I'm using Docker and work inside wsl2. When I check the task manager it always says RAM usage is > 70% even when I'm not doing any heavy computing.

When I do run Docker and wsl2 the RAM usage goes > 90%

I tried fixing it by limiting the Vmmem to 2GB but it has only helped slightly.

Anyone know what could be the issue?

I am thinking about upgrading to 16GB of RAM instead of 8GB which I currently have.

Thanks in advance

That indicates you need more RAM. Machine has 8GB now, probably in one slot. You can add same existing 8GB to slot 2. You can also upgrade to 32GB (2 x 16GB) too, specially to support VM

Yeah I suspected it could be a bit short on RAM. Thanks for your quick response 🙂
