HP EliteBook x360 1030 G8
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I'm encountering an issue with my HP EliteBook x360 1030 G8 notebook. When I press the webcam shutter key to open the camera, there's a significant delay before the camera activates, sometimes lasting several minutes. Additionally, the webcam occasionally activates on its own without any input, which is concerning.

Here's what I've tried so far:

  • Verified that the webcam privacy switch isn't engaged.
  • Checked camera privacy settings to ensure apps have access.
  • Updated the camera drivers via Device Manager.
  • Ran the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Utility to test the webcam.
  • Enabled Windows Hello as suggested in a related thread.
  • Reviewed startup programs to identify any applications that might be accessing the webcam automatically.

Despite these steps, the issues persist. Has anyone else experienced these problems or have any additional solutions? Could this be a hardware-related issue with the shutter key itself? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
