Hi

I saw, that a HP EliteBook x360 830 does not support the Dataspeed of USB 3.2 2x2.

But what if i connect the Notebook to a Dockingsation G4 with Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 v2?
Will it be possible do connect the external USB 3.2 2x2 Drive with full speed over the Dockingstation?

The Problem is, that no EliteBook has a USB 3.2 2x2 Port. So maby it will work over The Dock and Thunderbolt.

Can you identify you notebook with either its complete product name or product number?

There is no such thing as an HP EliteBook x360 830.

HP has produced and brought to market more than a thousand different models of notebooks and desktop PCs over the years.

It is difficult to help you if we don't know which specific model you own..

Method #1: If the notebook will boot into Windows, you can retrieve your Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key.

Method #2: Press the power button and immediately tap the F10 key to invoke the BIOS. In the Main section, you will find the Product number or Product ID. Post that in your next reply in your thread.

Method #3: Press the power button and immediately tap the F2 key.
If your laptop has HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI version 10.3.0.0, there is a System Information section that also has the Product ID.
We need that information, along with the installed Operating System information to help you.
Don't forget to post the name of the installed operating system if you haven't already done that.

It would also help if you fully identified the docking station.

If you meant to state HP Thunderbolt dock G4, your laptop is not fully compatible with it.

For video output (using external displays) on  the HP Thunderbolt dock G4, your device must have a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode, which your does not.

Your laptop does have Thunderbolt 4 USB 3.1 Type-C ports 40 Gbps

Dear Erico, Thank you for your very usefull informations.

I have a Dock 120W G2 ProdID L14714-001.

My idea was, to use a G4 Version of the Dock, so i can access to the 3.2 2x2 of the Dock G4 Port and use the Thunderbolt 4 of the G4 Dock with my G8 Notebook. But the Problem ist, that my Notebook dont support full Thunderbolt 4 😞 like you wrote.

So my next Question, which Laptop of the  EliteBook x360 830 Generation does support the full Thunderbolt 4 with USB 3.2 2x2?

Many thanks
