HP Elitebook 835 G8
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Team!

Quick query - we found out that our HP Elitebooks 835 G8 running Realtek RTL8822BE/Realtek RTL8822CE WNIC are VERY picky regarding working with Apple Iphone's running as hotspot. Laptop is simply not seeing the hotspot 80% of the time and even if it sometime allow user to connect to it, it's getting disconnected soon.

Updating drivers, playing with advanced settings, reinstalling the OS does not help.

Issue does not happen with Elitebook 845 running AX200 WNIC's.

Does someone know, if we can simply buy AX200 WNIC and replace it in 835 models, or we need to also replace the antena module as well, not just swap wireless NIC?

Hi:

The Intel AX200 should work.

Since the Realtek RTL8822BE wifi adapter has two antenna wires connected to it, you do not need to be concerned with the antenna wires.

Any one of these cards should work:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 802.11ax 2 × 2 + Bluetooth 5 (non-vPro) L35282-005

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 802.11ax 2 × 2 + Bluetooth 5 (non-vPro) L35282-002

Thanks, I replaced the card and it's working like a charm. 🙂

You're very welcome.

I can't believe that HP even installed one of those lousy Realtek Wi-Fi cards in an Elitebook,
